We’ll guide you every step of the way, and we'll do it with grace...not shame. For all men who join BATTLE, we assume you are here because you want help, not stones. We want this ministry to be a breath of fresh air for you, and want to give you renewed hope!

Our approach combines straightforward biblical strategy with an understanding of how God made our bodies to work, taking a holistic approach to recovery. We consider biology, psychology, relationship, and spirituality–all from a deep and committed biblical perspective.

Healing the Whole Person

Physical

The physical aspects of recovery focus on understanding the brain science of porn addiction and how to effectively change and reprogram the brain. We guide you to build new positive pathways through new habits and learning.

Emotional

Understanding your personal emotional triggers enables you to build effective boundaries. Sex and porn addictions aren’t so much about sex as they are a way to cope with pain, stresses, discomforts, and even trauma of life. Our tools help you recognize and address those triggers in healthy ways. 

Spiritual

Relational

The apostle Paul verbalizes the frustration that every addict can relate to: “I want to do what is right, but I can’t. I want to do what is good, but I don’t. I don’t want to do what is wrong, but I do it anyway…Who will free me from this life that is dominated by sin and death? Thank God! The answer is in Jesus Christ our Lord” (Romans 7:18-25). You’ll learn to deepen your relationship and process pain with God instead of running to a sexual high. 
Addictions thrive in isolation but lose their power in the light of community. Every sex addiction therapist will tell you the same thing: they have never seen an addict find real freedom on their own. Beating this addiction will require you to step outside of yourself and bring others in. We’ll help you do this.

FAQ

Do I have to be from your church to go to this?
Not at all. Battle is open to all men, young and old. Our goal with Battle is just to be a blessing to the Holland area and surrounding communities.
What ages is Battle intended for?
The battle comes to all ages, so we believe you are never too young to learn how to fight. For several reasons, we would like to see younger teens attending with an adult or guardian, but we know this is not always possible. Please use your own discretion in sending your teens.
I am interested but skeptical. Do I have to commit to anything?
No. The purpose of Info Night is just to show you what we do in Battle. After that, it is up to you, whether you want to register for our upcoming Battle Group.
Will I be asked to do anything?
No, nothing except to look over the materials we'll use and register for our upcoming Battle Group if you are interested.
Is there a cost for Info Night?
No cost. Info Night is a FREE event.
Will there be food?
Yes, we will provide light refreshments and drinks.
I am a pastor or ministry leader and I would like to send or bring some men. Can I talk to someone first?
We love working with likeminded churches and welcome your teens and men. Please know that we have no interest in recruiting your people away from your church. Our desire is simply to be a supplement to your regular ministry and a blessing to you and your church. If you have any questions, or just want to talk first, please connect with Pastor Ben.
