Secret sisters

Secret Sisters is open to any women of FBC who are regular attenders. They exchange names for the purpose of PRAYING for each other, getting better acquainted, and encouraging one another. The "secret" is...you don’t know WHO has your name – unless she accidentally reveals herself (or her children tell you), both of which have happened! 😊

Once a year these women get together for food, fellowship, encouragement, and to exchange names, if interested in participating for another cycle. Each woman fills out a slip with information about herself, adds a few special prayer requests, and puts the slip in a “hat.” Then each participating woman draws one slip with the name of a “sister” to pray for and encourage throughout the year. She may send cards, notes of encouragement, and occasional small gifts to remind her SS that she is thinking of her and praying for her. A table inside the front door of the church is where cards or gifts at can be placed, or if you send it through the mail, just don’t forget NOT to include your return address...or it won’t be a secret anymore!

Every woman who attends FBC is welcome to attend the luncheon and invited to participate in Secret Sisters if interested. While gifts are fun on special occasions, the emphasis is on praying for each other a little more knowledgably and specifically.

It is fun getting to know more about one another, but participating in Secret Sisters also brings about deeper relationships that last far beyond the exchange year.
